The F-Type, With Added Growl

Wow, what a week this has been so far. We've had the Aston Martin Vulcan, the Eagle Spyder GT and now another marvellous Brit enters the ring. This time it's Jaguar, who have released details of their upcoming SVR, their fastest F-Type ever which will be coming this summer. The SVR will be available in coupe and convertible models costing £110,000 and £115,485 respectively and will debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

Driving the F-Type is a 5.0 litre engine developing 575PS meaning a top speed of 200mph (coupe) and 0-60 in a rapid 3.5 seconds. To help gain these impressive numbers, the Jag has been given enhanced aerodynamics, a weight loss of 25kg compared to the F-Type R and carbon fibre active rear wing. The SVR also features new exhaust system which Jaguar says give a 'harder-edged sound', which I wouldn't have thought was possible judging by the almighty howl that the other models produce. On that basis then, this F-Type can wake the dead and cure deafness. Or maybe inflict it, who knows. A new carbon ceramic braking system is in place as well which Jaguar will say delivers exceptional fade resistance.

The SVR will be all wheel drive and will come with an 8 speed quickshift gearbox which features adonised aluminium paddle shifters. The SVR interior boasts seats unique to this model with Lozene quilt pattern, SVR steering wheel and suedecloth instrument binnacle and console. One question remains, droptop or coupe?
