Meet McLaren's 570GT

McLaren will be launching their latest Sport Series model, the 570GT with it's main emphasis on everyday usability. This mid-engined V8 sportscar will cost £154,000 and will join the 570S Coupe and 540C Coupe in McLaren's Sport Series range. It is able to hold more luggage than McLaren's other models using a leather lined touring deck which can hold 220 litres on top of the 150 litres that can be stored in the front. To get access to the touring deck there will be a glass hatch which opens sideways and on the kerbside, whether the car is on the left or right hand drive.

Pirelli have designed bespoke P Zero tyres for the 570GT which feature noise cancelling technology meaning that the ride will be quieter and more refined. This in turn means that the 570GT should be more comfortable on long journeys thus highlighting it's ease of use. The fixed panoramic roof will ensure that plenty of light comes into the car but fear not, it will not become a greenhouse on hot, sunny days as there is dual zone air conditioning on hand. On top of air conditioning, the cabin will also host features such as telephony, navigation and audio systems which are controlled by the central touchscreen command.

Now onto the business of power, the 570GT produces 570 PS (562 bhp) meaning that this everyday supercar will reach an impressive 204 mph and will hit 62 mph in 3.4 seconds. This grunt comes from a twin turbo V8 engine will also produces 600 Nm torque. The power will be available through a seven speed shift transmission gearbox with three settings; normal, sport and track. Despite this amount of speed McLaren are keen to make the 570GT as comfortable as possible so they have added a quieter exhaust system, lightweight noise absorbing materials in Touring Deck and bulkhead and suspension that has been optimised for long distance comfort.

The 570GT will be on show at the Geneva Motor Show and deliveries will come late into 2016.
