Last night saw a very special and exclusive unveiling of Ferrari's new 488 Spider which took place in Central London. VIPs and Ferrari clients were hosted by BBC F1 Correspondent Tom Clarkson who was in the company of stars such as Jamie Campbell Bower and Lucy Watson. They witnessed the special unveiling which was peformed by Scuderia F1 test driver Marc Gené.
The guests were treated to champagne, a variey of Italian delicacies and there was even a cocktail on offer named after the car istelf which contained gin, peach liquor, peach puree, lemon juice, lavender and Kaffir leaf. The 488 with it's strong, sweeping lines has a 3.9 V8 engine under the bonnet which produces a maximum speed of 203 mph. It will reach 0-62 in a lightening fast 3 seconds. It's no wonder that Ferrari say that this is their most powerful and innovative spider yet.
The guests also got the chance to experience the Ferrari 'Tailor-Made' service which is their atelier offering Ferrari customers the opportunity to choose which fabrics and colour combinations they wish. This means that Ferrari customers are able to get a high level of personalisation as well as craftsmanship.
