Top Gear Gets Budget Boost

BBC are to spend an extra £200,000 on every episode on Top Gear which will bring it up to a whopping £650,000 per episode. This is a bid to make sure the series is as successful as possible as they feat the new series will fail. However, because of this high amount of money being thrown to the new venture it may mean that the series will be reduced to eight - possibly even six - episodes. I'm sure this will come as bad news to fans and also the license payer.

It is no secret that the new version of Top Gear has hit many snags on the way which will surely leave Clarkson and co. rubbing their hands with pleasure. The BBC have declined to comment on this situation saying, 'We never comment on speculation regarding programme making costs.' The new Top Gear will face very stiff competition from Clarkson, Hammond and May's new show - yet to be titled - which will feature on Amazon Prime later this year.

It hasn't been smooth sailing for Clarkson, Hammond and May with Clarkson tweeting a picture of his wrecked car and May broke down in Central London last month. But in comparison these are minor issues and the kind of trouble you expect from them! Their antics will be available to view later this year whereas the new series of Top Gear will hit our screens in May.
