This year marks the 100th birthday for BMW and the German firm have unveiled a very special car to make the occasion. The car in question is the very bold BMW Vision Next 100. Ok so the name isn't the greatest but that side I think you'll agree this is a very striking car. The car focuses on autonomous technology with BMW saying is that their aim to produce a driverless car that retains driver and car relationship on a personal level.
Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW's head of design, said: "Technology should be as intuitive as possible to operate and experience so that future interactions between human, machine and surroundings become seamless. The BMW Vision Next 100 shows how we intend to shape this future.”
It's safe to say the car has some pretty interesting features too; the car has a frame of 800 moving triangles, it has something called 'Alive Geometry' which means the bodywork flexes as the car moves and a head up display for the whole windscreen. The car has an impressive cooper coloured body with LEDs that move, large wheels and a cabin made from renewable materials.
Sticking with the cabin, the VN 100 will offer 'Ease' Mode that has ambient lighting but can be changed to 'Boost' mode to allow driver input. If you do decide to drive then you can take advantage of BMW's 'Companion' system which will learn your driving habits. BMW have not announced what powers the car but I reckon it could be something special...
