News has broke that Japanese manufacturer are reportedly working on a mid-engined sports car which will feature a turbocharged 1.6 litre engine boxer engine which will drive the rear wheels, with electric motors driving the front wheels, making this a hybrid model. According to sources, we could see the concept make a public debut in two years or so.
The concept is said to be based on a BRZ that has been modified and will have the opposite powertrain that featured in the Viziv concept that was on show at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. It is also said that the modified BRZ is running the firm's new Global Platform chassis, which will be used on their cars of tomorrow so the new looks encouraging.
At this point there are no other real details and nothing has been confirmed at this stage but if put into production it could make for an exciting prospect. Watch this space....
