The negative news surrounding the new series of Top Gear just keeps on coming in, this time the crew have upset Chancellor George Osborne as their noisy filiming disrupted his work. Osborne slammed the BBC 2 show for the disruption in a tweet reading: "Trying to write my Budget, despite noisy episode of BBC-TopGear being filmed outside on Horseguards Parade. Keep it down please @achrisevans." Hopefully the noise put the Chancellor off from writing the proposed changes to fuel duty but that's another story...
This comes after the BBC 2 show flimed a noisy episode of Top Gear in Central London over the weekend, which was loud enough to disturb the Chancellor, causing him to take to twitter to voice his views. The budget is due to be delivered on Wednesday so I'm sure this stunt from Top Gear was most unwelcome with only a few days until the budget is to be announced.
Matt LeBlanc was taken around the London streets by professional racing driver Ken Block, leaving wide tyre marks in thier wake as they hooned about in Block's modified Ford Mustang near the Cenotaph. This act has caused outrage, with Colonel Richard Kemp, a retired commander demming the stunt as 'gravely disrespectful'. He added by telling the Daily Telegraph: "It beggars belief that they were ever allowed to film here. This is a sacred tribute to millions of people who have done far more for their country than [show hosts] Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc ever will."
A day before that LeBlanc and Block were in the same vehicle as they arrived unannounced at St Paul's Cathedral whilst a wedding was taking place. Block slithered the black muscle car around the street whilsr LeBlanc stuck out an arm to wave at the shocked onlookers. The wedding bells and confetti were soon replaced by burning rubber and plenty of smoke but I suppose it makes the day more memorable!
