Are you a Porsche 918 owner and are looking to complete the hypercar 'holy trinity'? Well to quote James May, "Good News!"
A car dealership called Fusion Luxury Motors in LA have not only the Ferrari LaFerrari up for sale, but also the McLaren P1 too. Unfortunately you will need deep pockets as the pair combined will set you back $6,600,00 (£4,672,400.97 in Queen's English). If you can't quite afford both however, then the P1 is the cheaper out the two, costing $2,200,000. So it should take no maths genius to work out that the LaFerrari costs a cool $4,400,000.
Despite the high price, they are both actually used - I know bummer right? The P1 has a nicely rounded 700 miles whereas the LaFerrari - I still think that's a silly name - has 1,072 miles on the clock. How do they compare? Well, the British made McLaren has a 3.8 litre V8 bi-turbo engine which gives a power output of 903 bhp with the help of batteries. The Ferrari on the other hand is faster, with 6.3 litre V12 giving 950 bhp, also with the aid of batteries.
We are yet to see the LaFerrari, P1 and 918 pitted against each over, that was a showdown that the former era of Top Gear were trying to arrange before the well-known 'fracas' happened. Don't worry though, as Clarkson, Hammond and May present this showdown when the series arrives in autumn on Amazon Prime. Or fall, if you're American.
