A car park in Wales has received complaints over the bays which are too small, making it difficult to fit the cars in the bay and to get out the car. Vans have got next no hope and may as well find alternatives thanks to the narrow dimensions of the bays. The lines have been newly painted and have caused confusion and annoyance among local regular users.
Mervyn Dowrick, a local engineer spoke of his bemusement of the new bays: "Being a regular visitor to Langland Bay I turned up at the car park as usual to meet my friends and noticed that new white lines had been painted.
"However to my amazement I also noticed that the car parking bays had been marked out for probably the world’s smallest cars. Some of the bays are so small that you cannot even park a vehicle between them. What a total waste of public money."
Swansea council have stated that the work was carried out contractors and they will be investigating the matter. They told the South Wales Evening Post: “We will go out to look at the bays to see if they are the minimum regulated width."
