Mohammed Yousaf got quite a shock after his auto parts shop in Rochdale after a driver rammed into the store FOUR times. It is unsure of the driver's motives but Yousaf thinks it was pre-planned attack. The driver of the blue Toyota had even entered the shop before the bizarre attack to ask whether there was CCTV. The driver then asked another motorist to move their car so he could carry out his series of rams.
No-one was hurt although it is said that the car narrowly missed the staff and customers that were inside. However £15,000 of damage has been caused to the shop, which Yousaf has owned for 24 years. Speaking of the incident, he said: “He came into the shop beforehand and was slightly intoxicated. He kept apologising and I said you have nothing to apologise for. And then he asked me if I had CCTV and I said yes.“He had parked his car at a weird angle across the road.
Yousaf added: "He asked a woman to move her car away from the window and he reversed straight in," “He used his car as a weapon of mass destruction. It was like an earthquake. The driver reversed his blue Toyota a number of times into the display window.
"God saved us, it was a miracle. If he hit us a fifth time I can assure you it would have been a more serious incident and death would have been imminent. We were shocked and I was in tears. After the incident I ran out and he had made a runner. The shop front was in rubble. It’s a complete disaster.”
