Jag's C-X75 License To Thrill Revoked

Jaguar have confirmed that the C-X75 used in the James Bond film Spectre will not go into production and remain as just a concept.

The concept was first seen in 2010, with the British firm looking to put the car in production in 2011. This was put on the backburner however, as Jag wanted to focus its efforts on production models such as the XE, XF and the all-new F-Pace.

The C-X75 featured turbines that recharge its batteries and helped the car get to 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 205, 5 miles faster than the S-Type SVR. Despite appearing in the hit Bond film, Jaguar say it will not be looking to make this concept a reality due to fears of it being "outdated". It's a shame as this is a wonderful looking car and I reckon it would have sold well and excelled where the XJ220 failed.

Speaking about the decision, Richard Agnew, product communications manager said: "The emotional side of our brains would also say yes, but the rational side would say that car was designed in 2010, it's now six years old.

"It was a great learning curve for us – the hybrid technology, the small forced induction engine. We gave it a good go to put it into production but I think in hindsight it was the right business decision."

Let's hope Jaguar are able to bring us something similar in the future as the C-X75 has left us wanting more...
