Manchester City have not had the best of seasons and it looks like some of their stars may already be looking at career alternatives. Man City stars David Silva, Bacary Sagna, Fernando and Eliaquim Mangala put on their racing suits and swapped places with Nissan Motorsport drivers Miguel Faisca, Ricardo Sanchez and Lucas Ordóñez.
The job swap concept was dreamed up after a study commissioned by Nissan found that 1 in 3 children aged 9-13 thought the most exciting jobs were either a racing driver or a footballer. The Dream Swap saw the Man City players take on an assault course in the NISMO Juke RS whilst the racing drivers took on football drills under the supervision of former Man City player Paul Dickov.
Mangala won the battle of the footballers, beating Fernando in the final and showing off some nifty driving the process. Maybe he should stick this rather defending, based on some of his performances this season... Faisca won the football test, having been the best in the speed, dribbling and shooting drills.
Nissan Motors GB Marketing Director Chris Marsh, said: “Through our partnership with Manchester City Football Club, we’ve been able to bring to life some of the ultimate passions of our fans – football and driving.
“Being able to make some of the country’s most celebrated talent accessible to our fans through this activity is what makes this partnership so exciting. Seeing the reaction from the players and drivers experiencing the dream job swap has been fantastic and we hope to get a similar reaction from viewers!”
