After a year or so in development, Audi have produced a one-off A8 limousine measuring at 6.36 metres long. The German carmaker has gone to great lengths (get it?) to make for the car, following a request from a European customer.
The lengthy Audi exudes luxury and offers six spacious seats, which are sure to provide a high level of comfort. The wheelbase measures at 4.22 metres, which to put into perspective is longer than a modern Mini and let's face it, that is not the smallest car going. The car has proved popular, with more requests being put in for this luxurious express.
Powering this A8 XXL is a 3.0 litre TFSI engine which produces 305 bhp and 440Nm of torque. This means a limited top speed of 155 mph and 0-62 time of 7.1 seconds. Not too shabby for a six-seater limousine. The A8 is not as heavy as you may imagine, weighing in at 2,518kg thanks to its virtually all-aluminum body built using Audi's Space Frame. The outer skin was re-worked, starting from the A-pillar backwards.
Inside the spacious cabin you will find an embedded 2.4 metre glass panel roof which will give the inside an airy feel. There are sun blinds in each row to provide better comfort on sunny days, with rows 2 and 3 offering electronically adjusted seats for even more comfort. All the seats are treated to extra-supple Valcona leather with rear seat entertainment display and a even a cool box.
