Ford Focus RX Debuts This Weekend

The new Ford Focus RX driven by Hoonigan Racing's Ken Block and Andreas Bakkerud will debut this weekend in Portugal as the FIA World Rallycross Championship opens.

This Focus RX is a monster and is able to produce 600 bhp, this means that this hatchback is able to hit 60 mph in under 2 seconds. That puts supercars to shame and is hot on the heels of drag racing cars. Block and Bakkerud will pilot this beast around the Bimposo Rallycross course in the town of Montalegre. The engines need to be finely tuned for the event though as the course is 1800 metres above sea level, making it the highest course in the championship.

Qualifying will take place tomorrow between 14:00-15:45 CET, with the semi-final and final taking place on Sunday. A total of 23 cars will take part, all of which produce 600 bhp, making that a total of 13,800 bhp. That is a rather high amount of horsepower in once place...

The Hoonigan Racing Division will go to Portugal after testing in Cumbria, UK. If you fancy seeing the Focus RX in action, then check out the short video below.
