Silverstone Auctions will be presenting a Bowler EXR-S on the 20th of May which is expected to sell for around £95,000-£115,000.
The car has been described as an 'all-terrain supercar' and is able to give blistering performance, no matter what surface it happens to find itself on. The one on offer is Chassis no. 1 and is the first of only three right-hand drive models from Bowler Motorsport. For those of you who are unaware of what Bowler do, they essentially take Land/Range Rovers and then beef them up, giving them savage performance in the process.
They have produced cars for the Dakar Rally, the British Baja National Championship and the French Baja, so I think it's safe to say they know their stuff. The EXR-S, based on the Range Rover Sport, is able to get to 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds and its 5.0 litre supercharged V8 engine produces 550 bhp. Coupled with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, the car is good for 155 mph (limited). A speed that the Bowler is likely to be able to hit anywhere.
But if you think this snarling animal will have no creature comforts inside then you'd be wrong. It may have a rally dashboard with competition dealing but even so, you can still expect to see climate control, Bluetooth and iPod compatibility. This is also a Pioneer audio system linked to massive speakers in the back so you may be fooled to thinking that you are in a standard Range Rover.
Speaking ahead of the sale, Nick Whale, managing director of Silverstone Auctions, explains “What a machine this is! The power and performance of this car is genuinely mind blowing. This is a truly stunning and very special motor car which offers an outstanding driving experience.”
