The London Motor Show is almost upon us and here is a taste of what you can expect at the show:
Noble M600
SVR and Noble will be showcasing the M600. This Leicester made sports car produces 662 bhp thanks to a 4.4 litre twin-turbo Yamaha engine. That is 558 bhp per tonne - more than a McLaren F1 - and the M600 has an estimated top speed of 225 mph. It seems like Leicester is becoming the byword for giant killing.
Riversimple RASA
This unusual little two-seater caused quite a lot of buzz earlier in year in the motoring world. This car has cutting-edge innovation and is powered by a hydrogen cell. This means that the Welsh-built prototype is able to hit 250 mpg to the gallon and weighs 580kg. It will do 300 miles on a single tank and if that isn't enough, the doors open upwards.
VUHL 05
We have another lightweight sportscar on the list with a name that's far from exotic. The VUHL stands for vehicles of ultra-lightweight and high performance and is a Mexican brand. It may only feature Ford's 2.0 litre EcoBoost engine but it does still pack a fair punch. The VUHL will get to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and will continue to a top speed of 150 mph.
Caterham
Caterham will also be in attendance and will showcase the Seven 360R, Seven 420R and Seven 620S (pictured), the latest Seven from the British brand. Caterham as well known for producing its two seater lightweight sportscars that are a thrill to drive on the track but now so much fun in winter when it's pouring with rain. Oh well, swings and roundabouts I suppose.
MG GS
MG will be unveiling its new SUV, the GS which will be the British brand's first ever SUV. It will enter fierce competition though as the SUV market is fast becoming the place to be for car manufacturers. It will have a low price tag to help fend of its rivals, with prices expected to start at around £15,000. It is thought to be powered by MGs' 1.5 litre petrol and 1.9 litre diesel that power the MG6.
McLaren 570GT
Last but not least we have the McLaren 570GT which be making its UK debut at the London Motor Show. Thanks to the leather-lined Touring Deck it holds more luggage than McLaren models with a total storage of 370 litres. To access to the Touring Deck you will need to use the impressive glass hatch bay which opens kerbside, whether the car is right or left hand drive. It has a top speed of 204 mph but even with the supercar performance McLaren have designed the 570GT to be comfortable and practical in day-to-day use
The show will be open to the public between the 6th and 8th of May. I will be bringing coverage from the show on the 5th of May so be sure to look out for that!
