A very rare Porsche 964 from 1993 is now being offered for sale by prestigious car dealer Hexagon. Only 12 of these cars were made in the form of right hand drive making this care extremely rare.
The Flatnose or 'Flachbau' as it is known in German was a limited edition run of the 964 production and this particular model has covered just 630 miles. It 964 features the X84 body package which provides the car with the flatnose styling and also provided the front wings and headlights from the 968. The package also included new air intakes in the front bumper and the rear wheel housing to help provide better cooling.
But it's not just the outside of this car that has been changed, this 964 was also treated to the X88 package which gave the car the same engine as the Turbo S. This 3.6 litre flat six-cylinder engine features features an enlarged turbocharger, modified camshafts, valve timing, cylinder heads, inlet manifolds and intermediate flanges, an extra oil cooler and four-pipe exhaust system. All this added up gives the Flatnose a power output of 385 bhp.
Paul Michaels, chairman of Hexagon Classics, said: “At the time, only a select few were offered the ‘Flatnose’ models – they weren’t publicised, they were almost ‘under the counter’. Not only is this incredible 964 possibly the nearest thing to a brand-new Porsche 964 Turbo, it is also one of the rarest and most important time-warp Porsches we’ve ever had the pleasure of offering for sale. A true collectors’ item.”
