I've always been envious of the police cars that other countries have, they have classy or exotic cars, whilst were are lumbered with Vauxhall Astras and Hyundais. Sure you sometimes see a BMW here and there but it's not quite the same in my opinion.
Italy have received a new police car and my, my, is it something special. It's certainly not the worst police car to see in you rear view mirror. It's the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV painted in the traditional Carabinieri dark blue and red. The QV stands for Quadrifoglio Verde - or Cloverleaf to you and me - which harks back to the Italian firm's racing days.
There's no escape
Criminal of Italy will dread the new Giulia as the chances are they will not outrun it. The car comes with a 2.9 litre V6 engine which produces 510 bhp. This means the Alfa will get to 62 mph in only 3.9 seconds and will offer a top speed of 190 mph. Needless to say, this Alfa will certainly hold its own with the likes of supercars.
Big on speed, big on style
Not only will the car provide the police with a potent speed package, the car will also give the officers a stylish and comfortable place to be. The inside features plenty of leather which is contrasted with red stitching. The dash includes a police radio and a Samsung tablet for the passenger to use, maybe a bit of Angry Birds if there is not much happening.
Limited Availability
Sadly though, only 2 of these cars will be on offer to the Italian Police force so I imagine there will be a lot of fighting over the keys. So in that respect maybe their response times will increase...
