60s Aston Martin DBS Awoken From Its Slumber

We all love a barn find don't we? I know I do, especially when it is a truly wonderful car such as this 1968 Aston Martin DBS.

The car was discovered after its 30 years recluse in a barn in Jersey. Even after all this years the car still looks majestic and is perfect for a restoration project. This forgotten classic was first purchased in 1968 before a Mr Pasqua acquired the car in 1970. He used it to get out and about on the small island of Jersey from that time until 1986 when he decided to store in the barn where it has stayed ever since.

The small dimensions of the island have meant the car did not need to travel long distance and as a result there are only 30,565 miles on the clock. The car comes with power steering, air conditioning, red Connolly leather interior, a Motorola radio and fog and spot lamps. The DBS is powered by a 6-cylinder engine which is mated to a Borg Warner automatic gearbox.

The car is to be offered for auction at Silverstone Auctions' May sale which will take play on the 20th of May. Just 787 of these DBS models were produced and this particular is estimated to fetch between £50,000 and £60,000 when it goes under the hammer.

Speaking ahead of the sale, Nick Whale, managing director of Silverstone Auctions commented, “This is one of the most exciting barn finds of the year so far. Having been left untouched for the last 30 years this DBS certainly needs restorative care, but to find an iconic car like this one intact with its original features is a fantastic opportunity for someone to acquire a desirable early car, which is prime for restoration or to rebuild to their own specification.
