Stratstone Receives Very Special Delivery

The Jaguar E-Type is one of my all time favourite cars, I love its style and I thoroughly enjoy the moment I see one on the road. Car dealer Stratsrone have been very lucky to receive an E-Type at their Mayfair dealership.

However, this is not any old E-Type, this is one of the Lightweight E-Types and is one of 18 that were produced in the 60s. However only 12 out of the 18 were built and delivered to the Browns Lane competitions department between 1963 and 1964. This led to the infamous 'Missing Six' which included chassis numbers 13 through to 18. The model Stratstone took delivery off is chassis 15 and yes you guessed it, part of the 'Missing Six'.

Simply poetry in motion

The missing models were found in 2014 and were worked on by Jaguar Classic, the special vehicle operations division of Jaguar Land Rover. The Jaguar Classic team went back in time, using the tooling and production methods that would have been used when the car was originally made. Chassis 15 arrived at Stratstone fully compliant with FIA homologation for historic motorsport purposes, a specification used for all the 'Missing Six' models.

Upon taking delivery of the car, Trevor Finn, CEO of Stratstone’s parent company Pendragon PLC said: “Our intention for this very special Jaguar is that it will serve as a living and dynamic ambassador for Stratstone across the UK and Europe. A passion for cars and motorsports is ingrained at the heart of Stratstone and its illustrious heritage.

"This car brings its own legacy and we’re delighted to be a part of its story. It was a pleasure to have the chance to work with Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations and we’re proud and privileged to have been successful in securing one of the ‘missing six’. We want E-type 15 to be the UK’s E-type and the plan is to give as many people as possible the opportunity to see it in a variety of locations.”
