Volkswagen's New Polo Sticks To The Beat

This week I have brought you a few special editions and today is no different. Today's one come from Germany, in the shape of the new Volkswagen Polo 'Beats'. The name is a clue of what to expect and this hatchback features a 300-watt sound system and the price for this mobile hi-fi starts from £13,910.

Never miss a beat again

As mentioned before, this new Polo features a powerful 300-watt sound system produced by audio specialist Beats Electronic. If those numbers don't mean much to you, let me put it into perspective. A Volkswagen Polo that comes in 'Match' trim comes with an 80-watt system. Needless to say then, you favourite tunes will sounds pretty epic as you cruise along.

As well as offering a meaty sound system, the Polo Beats offers air conditioning, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, a composition media system with 6.5" display and features Volkswagen's Car-Net ‘App-Connect’ which combines the functionality of Apple ‘CarPlay’, Google ‘Android Auto’ and ‘MirrorLink’™ and allows the ‘mirroring’ of the smartphone display on the infotainment touchscreen via USB.

The audio packs a punch but the engines are frugal

The Polo Beats will come in both 3 and 5-door guises and will come with a choice of four engines. You can pick from pick from three petrol engines or a diesel engine and they all take advantage of the Volkswagen's Blue Motion Technology which provides better fuel efficiency. The base petrol is a 1.0 litre engine that comes in two outputs, 59 bhp and 74 bhp. Or you can opt for the 1.2 litre TSI engine which gives an output of 89 bhp, whilst the 1.4 litre TDI engine offers 74 bhp.

The car is available to order now.
