The New Ford GT is fast approaching and thousands have applied for the new supercar in the month where applications were being taken. Only 500 cars are being made so whoever gets their hand on one will be rather lucky indeed.
A total of 6506 people applied for the new GT, with 500 coming from the UK alone. Quite a few people left it late though, 32% of all applicants applied in the last six days which saw a spike of applications submitted. The new GT will come with 3.5 litre EcoBoost V6 engine that is projected to offer around 600 bhp.
Many applicants attached videos along with their submissions to give themselves a better chance of acquiring the new car. The lucky 500 will be notified in 90 days and the cars themselves should arrive by the end of 2016.
“We’re excited by the amount of enthusiasm fans are showing for the new Ford GT,” says Dave Pericak, director, Global Ford Performance. “This initial application window is just one of many ways fans and potential owners will have to connect with our all-new supercar even before it hits the streets.”
