I'll admit I'm not a fan of the looks of the Citroen Cactus but since its release it has gone on to win a host of awards, including Top Gear's Hatchback of the Year and the World Car Design of the Year award so who am I to judge? Aesthetics aside, the French firm will be releasing a new special edition which will go on sale from the 1st of June with prices starting at £18,480.
What's included?
Well for starters the Rip Curl Edition will be the first C4 Cactus to get Citroen's Grip Control which is a traction control system that has various modes to help give the best traction in conditions such as snow, mud and sand. So this will ideal for those outdoorsy types that love to get out and explore. This is aided by Goodyear 4 Seasons Mud+Snow tyres that are wrapped around 17 inch alloy wheels.
The Rip Curl also features exclusive styling details such as the Rip Curl graphics which feature on the wings and rear quarter-lights. On the top and sides you will find white roof rails and wing mirrors which are contrasted by the orange detailing inside the cabin.
What about equipment?
In terms of the equipment, the Rip Curl will feature alumnium-effect front and rear bumper protectors, rear parking sensors, a colour reversing camera, automatic air conditioning, automatic headlights and wipers, satellite navigation a 6-speaker MP3 audio system, cruise control/speed limiter and tinted rear windows. On top of all that you will get a panoramic roof and a choice of five colours as standard.
Two engines will be on offer in this model, you can opt for the cheaper petrol PureTech 110 S&S with a manual gearbox, or you can get choose the diesel BlueHDi which also comes with a manual gearbox. They cost £18,480 and £19,210 respectively and will be on sale from the 1st of June.
