'Godzilla' Has Become Even Meaner

The new Nissan GT-R, the car known as 'Godzilla' has once again been given the NISMO treatment, making the car more powerful and capable as ever.

The new car will have the same revised front styling as the standard car which provides better airflow to the engine, but unlike the standard car the front bumper is made of carbon fibre. The bonnet has been reinforced to ensure it does not deform at extremely high speed and to keep the optimal aerodynamic capabilities at all time.

Powering the new car will be the familiar 3.8 litre twin-turbo V6 engine which provides a generous 592bhp. Every engine is handmade from start to finish by highly trained technicians and even comes with a plaque stating who made it. All that power will be mounted to a 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox and the power should be usable at all times as the car has the highest amount of downforce of a Nissan production car to date.

The stiffer body on the GT-R NISMO has enabled Nissan's engineers to make improvements to the shock absorbers, springs and stabilisers, meaning that the car will provide better handling than the last model. The changes to the new car aren't just performance based though, the interior has been improved to give a more upmarket feel.

When the Nissan GT-R first hit the scene it had lots of buttons and PlayStation inspired gauges. Now however, the interior is simpler, with 11 buttons instead of 27 as most of the commands are housed 8" touchscreen control unit. Alcantara leather can also be found in the cabin, signifying Nissan's intent to give a more upmarket finish inside.

The price for the new car has not been announced yet but it's thought it will be over £100,000.
