BMW Announce M3 Jahre

The BMW M3 turns 30 years old this year and what better way to celebrate than to release a limited edition to mark the occasion?

The new model is called the BMW M3 30 Jahre and will be available soon, priced at £82,675. Why is it called Jahre? Jahre is German for years so no interesting backstory on that one I'm afraid. Only 30 will be made though so it's safe to say this will be a very limited edition car.

Frozen in colour but not in performance

The new model comes in Frozen Silver and BMW say it will offer a more dynamic, head-turning stature compared to its standard siblings. The car will of course feature a vast array of M badges in and out of the car but as this is a special edition there will be a model number on the instrument panel and the front headrests.

The changes aren't just skin deep however, this M3 will be faster than the standard model and is built on the Competition Package of the standard M3. This means a modest increase of 19bhp and a marginally quicker 0-62mph time. The TwinPower Turbo straight-six engine throws out a nicely rounded 450bhp and will thrust the Jahre to 62mph in 4.0 seconds and then onto a limited top speed pf 155mph.

What else is included?

The Jahre will have Harman Kardon surround-sound system with 16 speakers, adaptive LED highlights, BMW M Carbon Ceramic braking system, BMW M head up display, BMW M Double-Clutch Transmission, Comfort Access, Surround View, Comfort Access, Advanced Parking Pack, Extended Storage and a Speed Limit Display.
