The Fédération Internationale des Véhicules Anciens or international federation of historic vehicles - or FIVA to make it a lot easier - have awarded 'Best Preserved Vehicle' for the second time this after awarding the first to a Cord L-29.
This latest award goes to a rather interesting Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ Zagato which has been half cleaned - but not restored - by Corrado Lopresto to form a work of art. The car formed a project of Coda Tronca, with help from Elio Zagato and Ercole Spada. The award was given when the car was on show at Villa d’Este (20-22 May).
As you can see, the Alfa is a car of two halves, one has been cleaned whilst the other has been left in the condition when found. Even the dust that was on the surface still remains and sits under a thin layer of transparent matt lacquer.

The award was presented by Dr Khalil Karam, Lebanese Ambassador to UNESCO and the car will be invited to go on show with the other winners outside the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. The next FIVA award will be presented at the Le Mans Classic 8-10th July.
