As well as the new Fiesta ST200 arriving in the UK, Ford have announced a new range of Focus and Fiesta models. It's called the ST-Line and will sit below the full-fat ST range. The Fiesta starts at £15,645 and the Focus starts at £20,595, both are available to order now.
So at this point you may be asking whether the ST-Line replaces the Zetec S trim level. Well to answer that question simply, no it doesn't, customers can still take advantage of the Zetec S so you may be confused where and how the ST-Line sits in the range?
Well let's liken it to Renault's GT-Line range and BMW's M Sport range, they are the toned down versions of the out-and-out performance models. One would argue that the Zetec S already accommodates that within the Ford range but that's a discussion for another time.
More efficiency
As the name suggests, the new range draws inspiration from the ST range but the emphasis is placed more on efficiency rather than performance. That's not to say they will be a slouch though as they will be powered by the multi-award winning EcoBoost engine. The Fiesta ST-Line will feature the 1.0 litre variant in three different outputs, 99bhp, 123bhp and 138bhp, all of which are mounted to a five-speed manual gearbox. The 99bhp and 123bhp units will offer 99g/km CO2 emissions and 65.7mpg, whilst the 138bhp unit offers 104g/km CO2 emissions and 62.8mpg.
The Focus ST-Line will also offer the 123bhp 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine as well as a 1.5 litre EcoBoost in 148bhp and 180bhp power outputs. Lastly, there are two diesels on offer, a 1.5 litre TDCi which produces 118bhp and a 2.0 litre TDCi that produces 148bhp. All five engines can be mounted to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. The engines have respective fuel consumptions of 60.1mpg, 51.4mpg, 74.3mpg and 70.6mpg.
ST Styling
Both the Fiesta and Focus ST-Line will feature sporty styling which includes unique 17" alloy wheels that come in Rock Metallic Grey, sports seats with red stitching, perforated steering wheel with grey stitching and ST branded gearknob and scuff plates. The Fiesta will be offered in three and five-door guises and the Focus will come in five-door hatchback and estate form.
Both cars will also get a honeycomb front grille, a rear diffusor and large spoiler at the rear. A front bumper lip spoiler will found on the Fiesta ST-Line and the Focus ST-Line gets a bumper insert. A ST-Line badge will be on display on the front wings to help distinguish it from other models.
