Classic Car Auctions will be presenting two barn find Jaguar E-Types which are far from their best but are ripe for restoration. Even in their slightly sorry form the cars still offer the awe-inspiring lines of the 60s classic. The cars will go under the hammer on the 18th of June and have a combined estimate of £37,000-£45,000.

The first car to be offered is a 1963 3.8 Series I Fixedhead Coupe was kept by its original owner for 30 years before it went to the second owner who drove it for two years before it was tucked away in a barn. This example is one of the early models of the E-Type and comes in right-hand drive with a manual gearbox.

The blue bodywork is still in good condition but the bumpers, headlamp covers, engine air filter and interior carpets have been removed. The dashboard, wheels and glass have remained very much in place though, making it a good candidate for restoration. This E-Type has an estimate £25,000-£30,000.

The second E-Type is a few years younger as it was produced in 1966 and is a Series 1 4.2 Coupe 2+2 model. This particular example also comes in right-hand drive with a manual gearbox. It was a restoration project that was abandoned around 15 years ago.

The interior has been restored at some point but the Webasto roof is in poor state and will be on the list of things to do. The car does come with the engine, exhaust, gearbox and steering wheel all fitted so that will save a lot of work.

This model boats a Jaguar Heritage Certificate that confirms it was built on the 11th of July 1966 and came originally in Opalescent Dark Blue. The chassis number ties up with its original registration number so buyers can be sure that this is the real McCoy. The estimate of this E-Type is £12,000-£15,000.
