Pricing Revealed For New C-Class Cabriolet


Pricing has been revealed for the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class which will be offered in two trims as well as an AMG model which are all available now and will be delivered in September.

Models and engines

The base model C200 comes with the 2.0 litre petrol engine which produces 184bhp and costs from £36,200. The engine delivers fuel economy of 47.1mpg and can be specified with either six-speed manual or a nine-speed 9G-TRONIC automatic. If you fancy a bit more performance you can opt for the C300 which has the same 2.0 litre engine but with a higher output of 245bhp and a lower fuel economy of 42.2mpg. This engine can be fitted to the 9G-TRONIC gearbox only.

Two diesel engines will be on offer as well, the C220D offers 170bhp and can be offered in rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive with manual or automatic gearbox options, although the manual is only available on the rear-wheel drive. The C250D gives a bit more power, 204bhp is available and is fitted to the 9G-TRONIC automatic.

Equipment and trim lines

The C-Class Cabriolet comes standard with equipment including Airscarf, reversing camera, Garmin Map Pilot navigation, heated seats, LED headlights, Active Parking Assist and sport seats finished in Artic leather. Two trim levels are available, Sport and AMG Line, Sport offers black interior, 17" wheels and a diamond grille.

The AMG costs £1,495 more and includes black ash wood trim, AMG sports steering wheel, brushed steel pedals and black roof lining. On the outside an AMG style bodykit, bigger alloys (18"), diamond grille and suspension lowered by 15mm.

Full-Fat AMG

If you'd rather the full-fat AMG you can choose from either the C43 AMG, C63 AMG or C63 AMG S. The C43 AMG is powered by a 3.0 litre bi-turbo V6 petrol engine which produces 367bhp. The engine is mated to the 9G-TRONIC automatic and will get the C-Class to 62mph in just 4.8 seconds. The range-topping C63 comes with even more power, a 4.0 litre bi-turo V8 engine producing 476bhp.

Its also fitted to an automatic but this time it's the Speedshift MCT 7-speed automatic gearbox. 0-62mph is dealt with in 4.2 seconds and 650Nm or torque is offered by the C63. Last but not certainly least is the C63S which offers 501bhp and a slightly faster 0-62mph of 4.1 seconds.

Equipment wise the C43 AMG offers 18" alloys, AMG performance exhaust system, brake pads with 'AMG' lettering, Artico and Dinamica upholstery; black mirror housings; and ‘BITURBO 4MATIC’ lettering on the front wings. The C63 AMG includes a sports steering wheel draped in Nappa leather, as is the upholstery plus lip spoiler and "V8 BITURBO" lettering on the side.

Finally, the C63 S AMG offers AMG performance seats, 19" alloy wheels and an electronic rear differential. If you fancy something a bit more exclusive however you can opt for the C63 S Edition 1 which boasts diamond-stitched Nappa leather upholstery, matt carbon fibre interior trim, bespoke 19" front alloys and 20" rear alloys. This model costs £78,295 and is also available from launch.
