Today Vauxhall released prices for the forthcoming Zafira Tourer and Mokka X, both of which will be in UK showrooms from October this year.
Zafira Tourer
The Zafira Tourer is a car that will be pitted against the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso and will cost from £18,615 all the way through to £29,580. The prices have not been revealed for the Citroen yet but they are likely to be similar which should make for a good people carrier battle but let's keep focussed on the Zafira for the moment.
The base model 'Design' is fitted with the 138bhp 1.4 litre petrol engine which can be fitted with either a manual or an automatic gearbox - priced at £20,135. A 2.0 litre diesel is also available but once again at a higher cost.
Don't think you'll have to have to go without luxuries though as the Design trim includes Vauxhall's Intellilink system with 7" display, digital radio, cruise control, LED running lights, 17" alloy wheels, Vauxhall's OnStar system and front and rear parking sensors.
The Elite Nav tops the range and like the Design it can be fitted with either the 1.4 petrol or 2.0 diesel with either a manual or automatic transmission. The extra money gives customers satellite navigation, 18" alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, heated leather front sports seats, tinted rear windows, climate control and fog lights.
Mokka X
Like the Zafira Tourer the Mokka X will come with a wide range of options ensuring there is something for everyone. Prices range from £17,590 for the cheapest Design Nav model through to £26,765 for the range-topping Elite Nav fitted a 1.6 diesel and four-wheel drive. The Design Nav is able to boast 18" alloy wheels, LED running lights, front fog lights, silver roof rails, Intellilink system with 8" display and Vauxhall's OnStar system. It's fitted with a 1.6 litre 113bhp petrol which is mated to a 6-speed manual.
Other engine choices for the Mokka X include a more powerful 1.4 litre turbocharged petrol which can produce 138bhp or 151bhp as well as a 1.6 litre CDTi ECOFLEX diesel which can produce 109bhp or 134bhp. A choice of manual or automatic transmissions are available depending on which engine you go for.
The range-topping Elite Nav starts at £22,855 and includes full leather interior with heated front seats and steering wheel, tinted windows on top of what comes as standard on the lower models. Powering it will be the less powerful 1.6 petrol which will be mated to the 6-speed manual gearbox. The Mokka X will have its work cut out though as the SUV market is densely populated so it will have many rivals including the Nissan Qashqai, Skoda Yeti, Nissan Juke - the list goes on...
Both the Mokka X and Zafira Tourer will be available from October.
