Jaguar To Offer 'Co-Pilot' Experience At Nurburgring

Have you ever wanted to experience the thrill of the Jaguar F-Type SVR? Have you ever dreamed of going to the Nurburgring? Well if you have, Jaguar have the perfect experience for you, a hot lap as a passenger in the F-Type SVR as it roars around the hallowed German tarmac.

The experience is called the ‘Jaguar Co-Pilot Nordschleife’ but I’m not sure how useful the average person will be as a co-pilot, especially as they’ll be too busy whooping for joy to focus on what turn is coming up next. Plus I’m pretty sure the Jaguar whoever is driving the Jag will know what they’re doing.

Just as well really as the F-Type can get to a top speed of 200mph and will get to 60mph in 3.5 seconds. It’s as loud as it is fast and the noise produced from the 5.0 litre V8 is simply thunderous. The price to experience all this magnificence is not cheap though, costing just over £225 – ouch. For that price you will be supplied with a race suit, helmet and a HANS (Head and Neck Support) before stepping in the track-prepared SVR for hot lap around the 12.96 mile track.

The car comes supplied with extra safety kit too which includes a rollcage, Recaro racing seats and racing harnesses. Also installed is video recording equipment so customers – sorry, co-pilots – can take away a video of the 30-minute session to relive the experience.

Mark Stanton, Director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations, said: “The weather at the Nürburgring is famed for being unpredictable and the new Jaguar F-TYPE SVR is the perfect car to tackle the undulating track in variable conditions. Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division has engineered the F-TYPE SVR to be lighter, faster and more powerful while still remaining a usable supercar every day. The Nordschleife is a fantastic circuit on which to experience all of the engineering enhancements my team has applied to the F-TYPE SVR.”

Mark Stanton hands the keys over to Mirco Markfort, CEO Chief Executive Officer, Capricorn, Nürburgring Gmbh
