Ford has added another Vignale model to its roster which will join the Mondeo, S-Max and the forthcoming Edge. This time it will be the Kuga to receive the Vignale treatment which will give a more luxurious and upmarket feel to the SUV.
Luxury and craftsmanship
The luxury starts on the outside where the Kuga has received a pearlescent Milano Grigio finish which is complemented by gloss effect finishes to the front and rear skid plates, door appliques and boot trim. Step inside the car and you will be greeted by cashmere coloured Windsor leather seats as well the dashboard which is also trimmed in leather - nice. Each model will be hand-finished at the Vignale centre at Ford's plant in Valencia, Spain.
What will provide the power?
The Kuga Vignale will have the option of either a 1.5 litre EcoBoost petrol engine or a 2.0 litre TDCi diesel, both of which come with two different power outputs. The lower powered variants of the engine both produce 148bhp and are fitted with a 6-speed manual, whilst the more powerful (178bhp and 180bhp respectively) units come with Ford's Intelligent All Wheel Drive and a 6-speed automatic - the more powerful diesel does offer the choice of a manual gearbox as well.
What do Ford say about the new model?
“Our customers have high aspirations, and they want more from Ford. On some vehicles, our top-of-the-line Titanium specifications make up 70 per cent of all sales,” said Jim Farley, Chairman and CEO of Ford of Europe. “With Ford Vignale, we can offer them the absolute best of Ford in terms of luxury and personal service. That’s why we are expanding from Ford Mondeo Vignale to our flagship products Edge and S-MAX, with Kuga to come soon after.”
