Price Announced For Gorgeous Giulia

Prices for the menacing Alfa Romeo Giula Quadrifoglio have been announced today and will cost from £59,000, around the same money as a BMW M3.

No manual, auto only

The Giulia may offer a high level of power thanks to its 2.9 litre Bi-turbo V6 but it can only be exploited by a eight-speed paddle shift automatic gearbox. So manual lovers may be disappointed but the power - and the noise - should make up for it, the V6 offers more than 190mph and will reach 62mph in just 3.9 seconds. Even with all this brute force the Italian brand claim the Giulia will manage 49mpg - I'll believe that when I see it.

Giulia has more than just brute force though

The car features an all-new rear drive architecture and thanks to careful management of materials offers a 50/50 weight distribution. So there certainly appears to be some substance to go with the style. The Giulia also features the longest wheelbase in its class which should mean more room inside so the whole family can experience the thrill of the V6 power.

The suspension has also been tweaked to not only give a dynamic drive but to enhance comfort and to improve traction the Giulia features the Alfa Torque Vectoring rear-differential, so on paper it's shaping up very nicely. It doesn't stop there though, an array of components and body parts are made from carbon fibre to make the car light but also strong whilst the brakes have also been giving an upgrade in the form of ceramic discs.

What about the kit?

For the £59,000 asking price buyer can expect 19" alloy wheels, sports bumpers and exhausts, Alfa Active Suspension, bi-xenon headlights with daytime running lights. There will be a plethora of driving aids including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Monitoring (DSM), Alfa Romeo’s new Integrated Braking System (IBS), Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and a rear-view camera with guide lines.

Inside the Giulia hosts sport seats which are trimmed with leather and Alcantara plus the front seats are heated - very nice. In terms of technology there is a 7" TFT instrument cluster, 8.8" touchscreen Uconnect system which has 3D Nav as well as DAB radio. Finishing the specification are dual-zone climate control, automatic lights and wipers plus cruise control with speed limiter.

The new Giulia Quadrifoglio is not available to order yet but will be soon.
