South Korean manufacturer Hyundai will be launching a limited edition version its Santa FE to celebrate the its partnership with Sir Bradley Wiggins’ cycling team. The brand say 500 will be initially available from July so it sounds like there a scope to build more if the model is successful.
Wheelie good specification
The Team Wiggins Edition will be based on the Premium SE trim but will be priced £705 lower offering better value. The model will include dynamic bending lights, a panoramic sunroof, a smart electronic tailgate, smart parking assist, ventilated front seats and smart high beam.
In addition to this, the Team Wiggins Edition will feature Team Wiggins Edition badges, side bar sport running bars and all-new 19-inch wheels which come in eye-catching dark Gunmetal. Customers can also choose to fit the car with Bradley Wiggins styled sideburns – just kidding, could you imagine? Five body colours will be on offer including an all-new pearl-effect White Crystal which looks pretty smart with the grey alloys if you ask me.
Providing the power will be a 2.2 CRDi diesel engine which offers 197bhp and is mated to a manual gearbox and four-wheel drive. The price starts at £35,995 but you can opt for an automatic version which will come with an increased price of £38,295.
Sir Bradley Wiggins said: “It’s great to be working with Hyundai this year - the company is a great fit with a really positive spirit and attitude. The diversity of the cars at our disposal has already proved invaluable in the Tour of Yorkshire and the Santa Fe has been a big hit with the team. I’m very proud to put my name to this limited run of special Team Wiggins Edition models and am looking forward to putting the range through its paces over the summer racing season and beyond.”
