Citroen has announced what the new C3 will look like and it's clear where the inspiration for styling came from, especially when you look at the Airbump panels which run down either side. A high level of personalisation is on offer plus an ample equipment level.
Smile, you're on camera
The new C3 comes with something called ConnectedCam Citroen. What is that I hear you say? It's a small full HD camera that sits behind the rear view mirror that serves two purposes. The first it take capture pictures or videos in the car that can be used as keepsakes and can also be shared instantly on social media - make sure you're stationary though! The second purpose is to capture footage in the event of an accident. I feel the first purpose is a bit of a gimmick but I can see how the second could come in useful.
Make it yours
Thanks to a high level of personalisation, customers should be able to make their cars unique to them - there are 36 colour combinations, plus two-tone colour options. Nine exterior colours are available which can be coupled with a choice of three roof colour options including Opal White, Onyx Black and Sport Red. The high level of choice extends in the cabin - four interior options are available and are inspired by travel and home interior design to make occupants feel more, well, at home.
Not only should those inside feel at home but they should be treated to a high level of comfort once in the seats. A panoramic glass roof is on hand to bring more natural light in the cabin, making it a nicer place to be. A 7" touchscreen features on the dashboard to make interior less cluttered and easier to use. The C3 also makes use of the Citroen Advanced Comfort programme to ensure the car is as easy and convenient to live with day-to-day.
What kit will it come with?
The C3 will offer a good level of kit including Citroen Connect Nav that can be used via the 7" touchscreen or via voice command, smartphone connectivity, reversing camera and hill start assist. Safety aids include lane departure warning, blind-sport monitoring system and driver attention alert which tells the driver when it's time to take a break.
What provides the power?
There are five engines to choose from in the new C3 - three petrols and two diesels. The PureTech Stop & Start petrol engines come in either 68bhp, 82bhp or 110bhp power outputs whilst the two Blue HDi Stop & Start engines produce either 75bhp or 100bhp. All engines will be mated to a manual gearbox although the option for an automatic is also available.
How much is it and when can I get one?
The price is unconfirmed at this moment in time but to give you an idea, the current model starts at £11,280. The sale date is also unconfirmed but it's expected to be early next year.
