Nissan has announced the Qashqai ‘Black Edition’, the first limited edition since the model’s release in 2013. It will feature a flagship specification and will be priced from £27,130. It’s based on the Tekna specification but will feature a panoramic roof as standard – the only Qashqai model to do so.
Other features include a pearl black metallic paintjob and large 19” alloy wheels finished in, yep you guessed it, black. Front and rear styling plates, ‘Black Edition’ badged entry guards and bi-LED headlights help to complete the exterior specification.
Qashqai trivia: Nissan’s Sunderland plant is able to churn out a new Qashqai every 62 which equates to 58 per hour. This helped the model become the fastest ever UK-built vehicle to smash the half million production mark in September 2015.
Black leather seats can be found in the cabin as well as NissanConnect infotainment system which includes DAB digital radio and satellite navigation. Other technological features include intelligent park assist, Nissan’s 360 degree Around View Monitor which helps with low-speed manoeuvres plus an array of safety and driver assists known as Safety Shield.
Powering the Black Edition is a 1.5 litre dCi 110 diesel which offers 70.6mpg and 103g/km CO2 emissions. It’s mated to a 6-speed manual and two-wheel drive. The new model will be offered in a limited production run and is available to buy now.
