A few months ago I wrote about the timelessly elegant Jaguar XKSS, a car that was once described as the 'world's first supercar'. Just nine will be produced by Jaguar Classic, the team behind the marvellous continuation models, for a select group of established collectors and customers.
Jaguar Classic has announced the car will make its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show which takes place this November. So the world still has a few months to wait to see the stunning car in the metal but you know what they say, good things come to those who wait.
However if that is too long to wait, you may interested to hear that the lightweight E-Type chassis #15 will make its racing debut at Le Mans Classic this weekend and behind the wheel will be none other than Chris Harris from Top Gear.
This particular E-Type is part of the 'missing six' that were never delivered to the Browns Lane compeition department between 1963 and 1964. Chassis 15 along with chassis numbers 13, 14, 16, 17 and 18 were found in 2014.
Jaguar Land Rover has also announced a £7.5m premises which will be based in the British Midlands. The new site will open early 2017 and is a stone's throw away from the SVO Technical centre in Coventry.
Tim Hannig, Director, Jaguar Land Rover Classic, said: “The development of a new home for Jaguar Land Rover Classic in Coventry is hugely significant for owners and enthusiasts of classic Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.
“In this fantastic new facility we will offer the opportunity for owners and prospective customers to meet with us, review and select the cars or services that meet their personal requirements and then establish a close relationship with Jaguar Land Rover Classic throughout the purchase process and beyond.”
