Autumn is a time where the leaves turn into beautiful shades of yellow, orange and red but they won't be the only thing turning red though. Mazda will be launching its new Mazda2 Red Edition on the 1st of September at a price of £14,995. Just like the leaves though, it won't hang about as just 400 are to be produced.
The new limited edition will be based on the SE-L Nav trim and is trimmed with red detailing on both the outside and inside. It's not a bad looking car but I'm not sure on the bold red seats on the interior, they're a bit...loud. They're also a different shade to the red interior trim on the dashboard and centre console - what about Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen say? I know, I know, I'm nitpicking.
The Red Edition comes in either Snowflake White pearlescent or Black Mica paint which is contrasted by Soul Red wing mirrors, rear spoiler and rear underskirt. Buyers can also add dark gunmetal 15" alloy wheels but an extra £300 will need to be dished out for them.
Powering the Mazda2 is a 1.5 litre 89bhp SKYACTIV-G engine which is able to offer a top speed of 114mph and a combined fuel economy of 62.8mpg. The engine produces 105g/km of CO2 emissions so it should prove to be a car with low running costs.
Specification includes sat nav, electric windows, cruise control, DAB radio, 7-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth and aux/USB connectivity. Safety features include hill hold assist, lane departure warning and smart city brake assist.
