Lord Have Merc-y - Classic Mercedes Backs Into Ferrari

"Nah you're good, keep reversing.."

At some point in our lives we may accidentally back into something - a pillar, a post or maybe a wall. Could you imagine reversing into a Ferrari 458 Speciale though? Well this is what happened to an unfortunate driver in a Mercedes 380SL that was attending a car meet in Virginia, USA.

The incident took place outside Katie's Classic Cars and Coffee when the female driver in Mercedes reportedly try to parallel park the red convertible but made a complete hash of it. Instead of slotting the car neatly next to the pavement - sorry, sidewalk - she inadvertently reversed over the low, expensive bonnet.

This caused the alarm of the Italian supercar, causing a noticeable crowd - the last thing you want in that situation. Surely she wanted the world to swallow her up but things were made worse when she tried to drive the Merc off the Fezza only to cause more damage in the process.

The story has gone viral and I imagine the drivers' face is likely to match the shade of the classic Merc. The $300,000 458 (around £230,000 in Queen's English) was left with large black scratch but no-one was hurt, apart from the driver's pride and dignity.
