Prices have been revealed for the new Alfa Romeo Giulia, a car that looks very good in my opinion and it's well priced too. The base model starts at £29,180 and the fire-snorting Quadrifoglio starts at £59,900 - around £4000 than the BMW M3. Is it worth it though? We'll get on to the range-topping model in due course though, let's focus on the base model - what's included?
The £29,180 'Giulia' comes with the choice of one engine - it's a 2.0 litre petrol which produces 200bhp. Also included in the asking prices is a specification which includes 16" alloy wheels, TFT screen, 6.5" Uconnect system with DAB radio and Bluetooth, D.N.A. driving modes, cruise control, dual-zone climate control as well as a whole host of safety kit which helped earn the car a Euro NCAP rating of 5 stars. The Giulia trim does miss out on navigation, a feature you'll receive in the base model 3-Series which is cheaper to buy.

The next trim up is called 'Super' adds a 2.2 litre JTDM-2 engine which can be specified to either 150bhp or 180bhp. For the bump up in price you'll receive 17" alloy wheels, 8.8" navigation with a larger TFT display, dual chrome exhaust tips plus leather and cloth seats. Prices for the Super start at £30,880 which will come with the 2.0 litre petrol.
The mid-range 'Tecnica' starts at £30,995 and comes with a 2.2 Turbo Diesel, which like the JTDM-2, comes in two power outputs - 150bhp and 180bhp. This specification also adds chrome window surrounds, front and rear USB ports, power seats pack, front and rear parking sensors with reversing cameras and best of all, a cooled glovebox - luxury!

The Speciale comes with just one engine which is the higher powered JTDM-2 on offer in the Super model which produces 180bhp. Priced at £34,150 the Speciale offers bigger alloy wheels (18" to be exact), bi-xenon headlamps, electrically adjustable driver and front passenger seats, aluminium pedals, dimming rear view mirror, black gloss window surrounds, sporty body styling, leather sports seats and a leather steering wheel.
There's a big jump up to the top model - it'll cost you £59,900 but that is considerably cheaper than an M5 so that's something to bear in mind. The Quadrifoglio is powered by a 2.9 litre V6 Bi-Turbo which produces 510bhp - 42bhp less than the M5 in case you were wondering. It's mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and will get the car in 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds. Top speed? 190mph - that's a speed the M3 simply cannot match.

It's not all about power though - the extra money also gives you 19" alloy wheels, leather/alcantara sports seat, heated front seats, Alfa Active Suspension, Sports rear bumper with functional diffusor, four sports exhausts and sports steering wheel with ignition button.
The Giulia looks mouth-watering in my opinion but don't be so quick to get down to your local dealership - it's not on sale just yet. The Giulia will go on sale later this year and I really hope I get a chance to test one!
