Wild Horses: Hexagon Classics Offers Pair Of Rare Ferraris

What's better than a rare modern Ferrari? Two of course! This is exactly what luxury car dealer Hexagon Classics is able to offer in the form of a 2001 550 Barchetta Pininfarina and a 2005 575 Superamerica.

You'll need an extensive bank account though as these two champion stallions cost £395,000 and £379,995 respectively. I'm guessing a BOGOF offer is out of the question then? Buy one get one half price maybe? One can hope after all.

The 550 Barchetta Pininfarina is one of just 448 examples to be made and was a limited-edition roadster of the 550 Maranello. Under the bright yellow bonnet is a 5.5 litre V12 engine producing 478bhp but despite its power this Ferrari has galloped just 1,625 miles. It's offered in left-hand drive and is billed as one of the best examples in the world after being meticulously looked after since it was initially sold by a Japanese dealer.

The 575 Superamerica is a bit more discreet thanks to its Grigio Silverstone metallic paintwork. It also features a pretty cool roof that is made of glass with adjustable opacity levels. It sits in a carbon fibre structure and will come down in 10 seconds.

559 models were made and every one received an engine which offered more power than the standard 575M. The 575 Superamerica featured 5.7 litre V12 engine which gave a power output 533bhp compared to the standard 575M's 508bhp. The 575 Superamerica is also offered with low mileage - just 1,380 miles have been covered in its 11-year lifespan.

Paul Michaels, chairman of Hexagon Classics, said: “These limited-run Ferraris are incredibly rare and in perfect condition. You could not hope to find two better examples of the 550 Barchetta and 575 Superamerica anywhere in the world. To have both on sale here at Hexagon at the same time is a real coup and a credit to our team. Both cars are fantastic modern classics that are sure to appreciate further in the coming years.”
