Last Renault Mégane MkIII RS Rolls Off Production Line

The fourth generation of Renault Mégane will arrive next year, meaning that the current model is nearing the end of its lifespan. The French brand is yet to announce any details of the next RS model but the last ever MkIII RS has now rolled of the production line and will be sold by Arnold Clark Renault Dundee.

The Mégane RS has become a popular hot hatch and the third generation of the car has sold over 30,000 models alone. The last example to roll of the Spanish production line is the Cup-S model which comes in right-hand drive and a typically yellow Renault Sport finish - Liquid Yellow to be exact. The car usually costs £23,935 but this one costs almost £32,000 - I know, that's a fair chunk of money but thankfully it's had some optional extras added.

As mentioned, the outside has been treated to the Liquid Yellow paintwork as well as the gorgeous black and red 19" STEEV Speedline alloy wheels which are wrapped with the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. Adjustable dampers by Öhlins have been fitted to get a sportier ride plus Recaro seats trimmed with Carbon Grey leather to help keep you in place when you're hooning about.

For an added touch of luxury the steering wheel, gear lever and handbrake have been lined in alcantara and a hands-free keycard provides convenience. Helping to finish the specification is a three year subscription to TomTom live services, 7" multimedia system and a Renault Sport Monitor which records performance data - handy for track days.

The track is a place where the Mégane RS should feel more than comfortable thanks 2.0 litre turbocharged engine which produces 275bhp which will get the Mégane RS to 60mph in 6.0 seconds and then on to a top speed of 158mph.

David Munton, Arnold Clark Renault Franchise Manager, said: “It’s great to have the final third generation Mégane Renault Sport to ever be produced in our showroom – it looks sensational in Liquid Yellow and the optional Öhlins dampers and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres are sure to be thrilling to drive on road or on track. As a long-time Renault Dealer, we know first-hand that Renault Sport fans are passionate about the brand, so we doubt this special Mégane Renault Sport 275 Cup-S will stay in the showroom for very long.”
