New Renault Scénic Marks 20th Renault Vehicle To Gain 5 Star NCAP Rating

The all-new Renault Scénic has achieved the hallowed 5-star Euro NCAP rating, in doing so it has become the 20th car from Renault to achieve this lofty status.

Safe as houses

The new Scénic will join other Renault cars such as the Laguna, the Clio and the Mégane, which have all been allocated the top marks of safety. The Scénic, as you'd expect features a comprehensive level of kit to not only keep the occupants safe but those outside of the car as well. It all starts with the structure of the car itself - reinforced steel skirts, side members, windscreen pillars and posts have been installed to make sure it offers the highest amount of protection possible if the worst happens.

Hopefully other safety features will be able to stop that happening in the first place - features such as Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, fatigue detection and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) are in place to ensure the Scénic can do everything in its power to stop an accident in the first place.

Industry recognised

It's features like this that has helped the new model gain top marks having been tested by Euro NCAP. The scores are in and the Scénic was able to muster a score of 90% for adult occupant protection, 82% for child occupants and 67% for pedestrian protection. This is sure to be a big selling point for the car when it hits showrooms as buyers will want a car that is willing to keep their family safe so Renault is very much on the front foot in this department.
