This morning has seen the announcement of the all-new 5008 SUV from French brand Peugeot, an SUV which the firm says '"breaks new ground". The new model will be available as of spring 2017 and has been billed as a "very capable vehicle". Press release quotes aside, what goes in to the new SUV?
Spacious yet packed with kit
The new 5008 looks to make a good start on paper as it's able to boast plenty of space as well as offering a good level of equipment. Peugeot's i-Cockpit will be installed in to the 5008 to offer more information at the driver's disposal which is displayed on a 12.3" heads-up display. It's bound to look impressive on the dash and will be joined by an 8" touchscreen display where the usual mod cons can be controlled.
Other technology include driver assists such as Advanced Grip Control, Hill Assist Descent Control, Automatic Emergency Braking System and Driver Attention Warning to name but a few. The front seats offer a massage function (optional extra) and a FOCAL Premium hi-fi system is also in attendance in the new model so I doubt buyers will be wanting for too much.
The new 5008 is 19cm longer than the 3008 and 11cm longer than the original 5008 meaning it's able to offer more space for both passengers and luggage. The boot is able to offer up to 1060 litres as well as two removable folding seats in the third row.
The new 5008 will debut at the Paris Motor Show and will be available to buy next spring.
