Hexagon Classic has recently taken delivery of a Mercedes-Benz, but not just any Mercedes-Benz. It's an extremely rare 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet offered in right-hand drive and it's thought this could be the only one of its type in the world.
One of a kind
Not only could it be the only right-hand drive example in the world but it's also in almost new condition. This is thanks to a highly detailed restoration completed previously by Sleeping Beauties of Brisbane in Australia. Technical specification includes a 3.5 litre V8 engine, four-speed automatic gearbox, electric windows and six-layer folding roof.
Travelling in style
Up to four can ride in this luxurious convertible, it may have a V8 engine but it's quiet and refined - perfect for cruising. The exterior has been treated to deep black paintwork which is contrasted by the gorgeous red leather seats in the cabin. The 280 Cabriolet was introduced in 1965 to compete with the Rolls-Royce and Bentley Corniche convertibles of the time and by the looks of it the 280 went in to battle in good stead.
Paul Michaels, chairman of Hexagon Classics, said: “Seeing a right-hand-drive Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 for sale is extremely rare, let alone one like this in such incredible condition. It’s one of the greatest cars in the German brand’s history and certainly deserves all the plaudits it gets. Sleeping Beauties of Brisbane has done sterling work restoring this stunning car, and a lucky buyer can now profit from their brilliance and Mercedes’ expertise.”
