New S-Class Slips Into The Night

Mercedes has recently announced the new E-Class coupé this week, but as if that wasn't enough, the German brand decided to bring out a limited edition of the S-Class. But what exactly can you expect from the new model?

Into The Night

It's called the 'Night Edition' and essentially it's just a smarter, darker version of the standard coupé which will be available to order in the next few weeks or so. The new model is treated to a new radiator grille which features a single louvre in gloss black, complimented by 20" AMG alloy wheels also finished in black with a high sheen detailing. The wing mirrors and side sill panels also receive the black treatment and are joined by special 'Night Edition' badges either side of the front wings.

The styling extends to the inside; here you'll find another special edition badge on the nappa leather AMG steering wheel whilst the seats/interior can be specified to either leather, nappa leather or AMG nappa leather which comes in a choice of colours to suit everyone's tastes. Well that is unless you don't like leather of course.

Power Through The Night

Powering the Night Edition models coming to the UK will be the 4.7 litre V8 engine which produces 455bhp and a whopping 700Nm of torque. 0-62 is dealt with in 4.6 seconds and the top speed is a typically limited 155mph. Mercedes will be producing this model with the 3.0 litre V6 4MATIC and the 4.7 litre V8 4MATIC as well but they are not coming to the UK.

This model will be available to order from the 9th of January but prices are yet to be confirmed.
