It's the weekend which means it's time to sit back, open the laptop and marvel at some of the amazing cars that are for sale on the interweb. In the last feature I brought you the majestic Mercedes-Benz 190SL which was a real stunner and I was wondering what I could do to better it. Today's car may just do the trick, it's a 1999 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster once owned by Rod Stewart.
Da ya think I'm sexy?
The Lamborghini Diablo is with no doubt an iconic supercar and one that would have adorned many bedroom walls once upon a time. It's not one one of the best looking Lambos in my opinion but it is one of the most imposing thanks to it's low, broad stance. The scissor doors help to draw attention as does the yellow paintwork.
It features like this that attracted singer Rod Stewart to the Italian supercar who is listed as one of the former owners along with wrestler Kendo Nagasaki - don't worry I didn't know who he was either - and 2 other former owners.
You wear it well
Sitting in the Diablo is a 5.7 litre V12 engine which offers 530bhp which translates in to a top speed of 200mph and a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds. The V12 fury is fitted to a five-speed manual and four-wheel drive helps to keep the power down on the blacktop. Chunky 18" alloy wheels are also fitted to further aid rubber to tarmac distribution. The exterior styling continues with a targa roof, rear spoiler, two double exhaust pipes and a body that shows the car means business.
A rare breed
Now I think it's safe to say any Lamborghini is special but this Diablo is a rare breed this example is one of only 20 made Diablo VT Roadsters made in right-hand drive. This is also only one of 4 models Diablo VT Roadsters made with perspex non pop-up lights so this really is a rare beed of Lambo. The car may have had 4 owners but the Diablo has only covered 12,478 miles and the car comes with MOT and service history for peace of mind.
How much?
At this point you are keen to find out how much this is and it's not cheap so here goes. It's £249,995 which could buy you a house but would the house be as special and rare as this Lambo? Probably not. As mentioned the car comes with MOT and service history and also comes with the accessories that came with the car.
