Weekend Window Shopping: Renault Clio V6 Sport

Over the last two installments of Weekend Window Shopping I've brought you two cars which are enough to empty your wallet and break your bank balance. So let's bring it down to earth a little bit with a car that's a little more...affordable. Ok so it's still a bit pricey but it's worth it as you'll be able to boast a hatchback with a V6 engine that's mounted where the rear seats used to be. Don't worry though, you still get a boot - well you can two in fact.

A tidy looking profile indeed...

It is of course the Renault Clio V6 Sport, one of the hottest hatches you can get. It was produced between 2001 and 2005 with help from Tom Wilkinshaw Racing and Porsche - a company well versed in putting engines in the rear. As you can imagine, the performance was pretty potent - 0-60mph is achieved in 6.2 seconds and the top speed comes at 146mph.

What ya looking at? This Clio has attitude

One of the early examples is available for sale from a dealer called WSSC based in Petworth, West Sussex. The car is offered in Iceberg Silver with a full service record and a mileage of 37,900 miles. Not only is it fast but it's rare to - only 256 models arrived in Blighty and around 100 are believed to still be here.

Does my bodykit look big in this?

A wide bodykit is wrapped around the Clio V6 Sport to give it a broad, squatted stance on the road. It really is a hot hatchback that looks like it's capable of delivering quite a bruising. 17" Oz alloy wheels can be found on each corner to further highlight it's sport credentials. Two dark blue leather/alcantara seats can be found inside the cabin as well as air conditioning and a CD changer.

Oh, the price? It's £22,500 that puts it in the same price bracket as a brand new Ford Fiesta ST200. Picking between them could be tough but the rarity of the V6 Sport may just be enough to swing hot hatch fans. Plus it means you'd be able to boast in the pub about having a V6 engine - in a Clio.
